Redland Bombers 2019 season commences
THE 2019 NEAFL season has started on a positive note for the Redland Bombers as we embark on another exciting campaign.
With Phil Carse back at the club as coach we hit the high notes and the song was sung with gusto after a brilliant victory against Canberra Demons in the second match of the season and we’ll be looking for many more of the same as the season progresses.
The club embraces many highlights during the year.
The Anzac Day clash against Northern Territory is among them and Scottsdale Park was a picture of solemnity when both teams lined up as the bugler played The Last Post.
The Indigenous round is another key platform and specially designed jumpers will be worn when the players run on to Scottsdale Park against Aspley.
Last year we had three players earn selection in the NEAFL Team of the Year – Adrian Williams, Jackson Paine and Matt Hammelmann.
While Jackson has returned to Melbourne both Adrian and Matt are on course to repeat the process in 2019 with maybe one or two others pressing their claims.
It’s a tough slog throughout the season with matches played in Canberra, Sydney, Darwin, the Gold Coast and sometimes at Alice Springs.
But the players and staff are committed to the cause and always represent the Redlands Coast with distinction in what is among the highest levels of competition in Australian football.
