SOFTBALL CLUB
Founded by Mr Peter Foxover, Sharks Softball was originally started to give the wives of the senior footballers ‘something to do’. This proved to be a great success and the Club now has over 20 competition teams. These include the youngsters in T-ball right through to the Masters, who compete in National and International Competitions.
The Sharks have proved to be a great breeding ground for champion softballers over the years with countless State and National representative players doing the Club proud. ‘Modball’ is a program run by the Club’s development staff to promote and introduce the game to 5-10 year olds and is a great recruitment base for children to move into competition teams

'SHERI' THE SHARKS NEW WEAPON
Hello my name is Sheridan Darroch, and I have recently been appointed Softball Development Officer for the second year running. Having run the programs for juniors last year i am looking forward 2007 to improve and add more programs to keep the kids interested and active. I began playing softball at age 9 and played for Logan Districts from grade 5 right through to grade 12. In Grade 11 and 12 I was lucky enough to be picked for met-east and then later picked to play for Queensland at the national schoolgirl championships. I participated with the Queensland under 19 team in 2005 and the Queensland under 23 team in 2007, which I feel was the result of good junior coaching. I enjoy softball as a competitor but also enjoy the coaching element teaching youngsters the sport I love.

"Step Up to The Plate"
The development program was started up by Sheridan in May 2006.  The program was offered to Sharks players from under 12's, under 14's and under 16 players who wish to play Representative softball in the future.  The program was designed to offer further training to gain more knowledge of the game.  2006 saw the first sucessful completion of the program with all the kids enjoying the training and gaining extra knowledge.  The 2007 program is a little over halfway through, the kids who have been selected for the program are enjoying the trainings and improving immensely.  Hopefully the last two weeks will be fun and worthwhile for the kids, the kids are receiving a "Step Up" shirt thanks to Lj Hooker Cleveland  who are sponsors of the program.  We are hoping for the players to gain selection into their age group for the Redlands representative teams.
Modball !!!
Introductory Tball/softball program for 5-10 year olds.  The program runs for 6 weeks and children receive their own ball, glove and Sharks Bag.  It costs $40 for your child to register.  No booking required, just come along on the date. The program for 2007 has already been completed with a great group of kids enjoying the program and going on to join the club to play every sunday.  The date of the next program has not been set, but will be published ahead of time here on the website.
